What you read or see or hear on the Media, is not necessary what it seems. Many things can be taken out of context to suit whatever purpose the Media is tried to serve, especially in the election. The media can really paint some ugly pictures, taking people's past or present words or actions out of its context.

盡信書不如無書,尤其是不管在世界的那裡,大眾傳播總是會誇大其詞,或者斷章取義以求銷售量,所以我們看官更要小心評估文章的可信度。連美國在競選期間,也是無所不用其極的抹黑各家對手,所以政治抹黑不是台灣的專利。

Also, sometimes, the Media likes to exaggerate things, especially on the title. The other day, a local free daily paper, printed " The majority of commuter enjoys the ride" Now this would seem almost everybody loves commuting. However, if one reads into the details of this article, one would find that only 38% of people said they like the commute while 30% said they don't. Now, that is a very close race. So how can anyone conclude that MAJORITY of the commuters enjoy the ride?

最近在地方報紙讀到標題『大部分的民眾喜歡通車的時間』,但是如果你仔細讀內文的話,你會發現到雖然有百分之三十八的受訪者說他們喜歡通車,卻有百分之三十的人說討厭。這並不是很大的差距。而且還有另外的百分之三十二的人哩,但是報紙卻輕率的說大部分的人喜歡通勤,不過它們也達到聳人聽聞的目的,因為不相信這個標題的結論,它的確讓我有興趣拿起報紙仔細讀一讀了。

All in all, in the era of information overload coupled with advanced technology, we should heed the credibility of what we read. One such example is exactly what was shown in "the beauty is a mouse click away."

總之在這個資訊、科技發達的時代,我們在讀取資料的時候就更要小心它的可取信了,不要輕易的被媒體煽動,古人說的還是有些道理的, 「盡信書不如無書」。
